The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is based at Mysore in Karnataka state in india. The university is recognized by the state Government and approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The university is the Pioneer in the sphere of Distance Education in india. Now the University is offering the technical Programme in 'Engineering' through distance learning mode.

 

This Engineering Programme is approved by DEC (Distance Education Council), and such courses won't require AICTE affiliation. (Ref. AICTE Letter No. AICTE/RTI Cell/2002-431) Therefore this Engineering Programmes are having wide acceptance all over in india. The said courses fulfil the need of the students wich reflects in the demand of the courses. There is wide range of technical courses like Engineering Programme - M. Tech, B. Tech, Diploma; I.T. Programme - BCA, BCS, MCA, MCS, One Year Executive MBA and many more.

 
◊ Admission Criteria
The Candidate has successfully completed Graduation from a recognized university with any stream + 6 Months Computer Diploma.

◊  Lateral Entry to Third Semester of MCA :
BCA/B.SC(IT/CS/AIT), B.E IN (IT/CS/AIT), B.TECH (IT/CS/EXC) OR Equivalent can directly join for MCA 2nd year from any recognized university / institution.
     Exit Scheme of MCA:
  After successful completion of first year of MCA, the candidate shall be eligible to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA).
  After successful completion of first four semester of MCA, the candidate shall be eligible to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications (ADCA).
  After successful completion of all six semesters of MCA, the candidate shall be eligible to obtain a degree of Master in Computer Applications (MCA).
